Looks great! Love the armor, esp. the checkered kneepad and the continuation of that onto the banner. I rarely have the patience to do effective highlights like that on marines.
I don't know about the highlights on the raised parts of the banner design though. Maybe from a distance it looks better (most of my minis do!) but with the close ups it emphasizes that the design is raised, where I would think you'd want it looking like it was part of the cloth of the cape/banner. Especially where it conflicts with the highlights where the cloth folds. I wonder how it would look without the edge highlights on the cape/banner sword/wing designs themselves but carrying through the highlights - though obviously in appropriate color - from the folds. I think it might make the designs appear more natural that way.

Very nice, the cloak in particular is really different to what you usually see for the DA and is very striking.
ReplyDeleteI think the edge highlighting does work. Sharp folds in the cloak will catch the light in a different way to the rest of the material.
