A while back, I talked about Avatars of War and the new Dwarf Berserkers that they have coming out. Well finally after a loooooooooooooong time waiting, they finally have them up for pre-order.
These models look fan-friggin-tastic. The detail on them is superb from the looks of it and I can't wait to get my grubby mitts on them.
The only bad thing is that they pre-orders don't ship until the end of May, and I really don't want to wait that long.
I don't know if I'll ever play my WHFB Dwarfs, but I think that these Berserkers will look great as Slayers. The best part is that for abolut $36 (€25) this is much cheaper than trying to get 20 slayers off of the GW site.
If you wanted to get a comparable unit from GW you'd spend $33 (about €22) for the Command Squad, and $24.75 (about €17) each for three more packs of Slayers. Thats a total of $107.25 (about €74).
Plus, if you pre-order two of the boxes, shipping is free. I'm not sure what I would do with 40 of the dudes, but I wish I would have seen that before I had made my pre-order.
Anywho, take a look at this video that shows you what the sprue has to offer.
Okay... I always wanted to play Dwarves in Warhammer Fantasy Battle. Now, I am doubly tempted, since these look exactly the way Slayers should, and current models by Games Workshop are... well. Apart from Long Drongs Slayer Pirates, of course.

ReplyDeleteDo you even PLAY dwarves?? (Of course, who am I to question buying cool models for armies you do not play..!)
Glad I found your site. I will check out the blog.

Marcin, I don't think the Dragon or Daemon Slayers look too bad, but yeah, the rest are pretty bad. Evn Long Drongs crew are looking their age.
ReplyDeleterowport, you caught me, I have a fully painted Dwarf army that I have played exactly once. But I love the minis and I love painting them. Maybe if/when they get a new book in 8th ed. I'll give it a whirl.
